INITIATIVES BY THE I&B MINISTRY

There is a huge opportunity to make India lead in the world as film shooting location and digital media hub for the world. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has set up Film Facilitation Office to promote shooting locales of India as well as provide assistance to foreign producers to film in India. To give an impetus to an impetus to animation , gaming and VFX industry, the government is on the process to set up Centre of Excellence that would produce technical professionals to cater to the need of high end human resources and IPR.

Apart from promoting select Indian states as ideal shooting locales globally, the Confederation of Indian Industry Booth at the Palais (Booth 24.01) area would also be coordinating B2B meetings between Indian and international stakeholders. This is the 15th consecutive year CII has been representing the India participation at Cannes, positioning the Indian Entertainment industry on the global landscape. India’s participation at Cannes is aimed at not only promoting the Indian film industry, but also enhancing Trade and Investment for this sector and building ‘Brand India’ at Cannes.
